What is window film?

Window film, or window tint, is a versatile film or metallic laminate applied to glass windows and doors. It offers a cost-effective solution to enhance the performance and appearance of your glass. By modifying the glass's optical and mechanical properties, window film can provide benefits such as increased energy efficiency, reduced glare, improved privacy, and enhanced security.

Is window film installed on the inside or outside?

Window film is generally installed on the inside of a window, but it can also be installed on the outside. The best option depends on the situation and the type of film. With interior installation, the film is protected from the elements, which helps it last longer. It is also easier to access the inside of windows, especially in multi-story buildings. Exterior installation is the better option when access to the inside is difficult or impossible, or when you want to reduce solar heat gain. Security film can be installed on the interior or exterior, or on both.

Is window film installation messy?

Our professionally trained installers apply window film using a water-based solution. We prioritize the care of your windows and property, ensuring a clean and efficient installation process. Any debris generated is cleaned up, leaving your space spotless.

Will window film work on all my windows?

There is practically a window film for every kind of window and glass. Window film can be applied to entry doors, patio doors, skylights, large windows, small french panes or any other type of glass. It is also safe for dual pane windows and tempered glass.

What are the advantages of security window film?

Security window film can prevent a fast break-in. The thicker the film, the more protection from an intentional break. Glass covered with security film will shatter but stay in place, creating a longer time frame of gaining entry to your home or business, thereby delaying and deterring intruders. Security window film also helps keep children and pets safer. If the glass is hit during excitement or play, the glass is less likely to break and hurt them.

How long does window film last?

Window film can last anywhere from 5 to 25 years, depending on the type of film, how it's installed, and the climate. Window film that's professionally installed is more likely to last longer than film that is not.

Can window film provide privacy for my home or office?

Window film can significantly help with privacy by blurring or blocking the view into a room, allowing natural light to still enter while obscuring what's happening inside, making it a good alternative to curtains or blinds. Different types of window film offer varying levels of privacy depending on the desired effect, such as frosted films for general privacy, one-way mirror films for daytime privacy only, blackout film for complete privacy and decorative film for privacy with a stylish design element.
